Australasian gannet (Morus serrator) diving sequence. I had this 70% finished when I was reading about the species and learned that they don't spear their prey but dive underneath the fish shoals and come at them from below. Ah well. This one was just over eager. This species is Australia's only true gannet. The cape gannet occassionally gets lost on its way past africa but the tail feathers are different.
Awesome job on this! It has a beautiful flow and a very realistic appearance. Great work!

Weeeeell.... given that I was meant to research my species *before* I drew the picture and not as an afterthought ^_^; I didn't loose marks for it but it reminds me to be more methodical and remember not to assume behavior. If Im ever employed to do scientific illustrations such things will be important.
