Artist's Comments

A concept etch for printmaking class.
The final bird will consist of five or so flat planes with a few actual cogs at the core and should be free standing and initially posable.

Investigation and research for this piece has lead me down the road to the intrigues of steampunk.
May the gods have mercy on my soul.
And bring on the clockwork....

[edit] And this has now been indelibley etched onto someone's arm! @_@ My work is on living canvas.

This promises to be a very awesome project - I hope you post pictures of the final result! After looking at your fairy-tale watercolor, this makes me think of "The Emperor and the Nightingale". Another wonderful story. :) Great work!

I will ^_^ I've got the prototype half glued (am impatiently waiting for a wing to dry so I can attatch the second one right now)

Unfortunately the legs aren't as strong as I would have like - I'm having to rethink re-inforcing the design further ^_^
